It’s hard for baby boomers to pay for their kids
A pal of a friend had her first child leave the nest. She did it somewhat too soon, left before graduating from senior high school to search settle for some boy. The daughter did get her GED and fortunately just isn’t pregnant. Despite the silver lining of moving away from a dysfunctional home, the daughter just isn’t making good use of her life. She has no job, doesn’t even try for one, lives off her husband’s meager income and spends money like its water. Consequently there are frequent calls home to mom and dad begging for money to cover the rent, the utilities and even groceries. Yet they have got lots of computer toys, games and movies if he or she want.
Being a parent of small children I look at this situation and try to learn from it. My first lesson are these claims: it doesn’t matter how hard it can be, I cannot still support an ungrateful lazy child so she can squander everything I be employed by just to play house two states away. I realize that some lessons have to be learned the hard way. It might be very difficult will be able to tell my child, “no, I will not give back food money. You need to have a job.” It will be very tough. But it’s something that must be done to ensure that child to find out that our life is hard and also you cannot suck your folks dry. That poor daughter is quite immature and so that you can keep her from disappearing using their life completely they keep feed her habits. But this only serves to destroy the potential because of this young woman to learn to lead a fantastic life. I honestly can’t imagine what she does everyday without job, but her Facebook account references frequent shopping trips and she comes home with useless junk. I’m guessing it’s all funded by mommy and daddy.
Take this as being a lesson if you are a parent. In the event you give young kids free license to abuse you chances are they may. If the kids remain really young spend some time to teach them about life’s responsibilities and back it up with actions, not only words. Our life is hard and it’s not just a free ride. The lessons might be painful nonetheless they must be learned.
